Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the CSDog Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Service"), provided for the use, acquisition, and management of digital items through the website csdog.io. By using the Service, you agree to the collection, processing, and storage of your personal data as described in this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.

1. Processed Data (Including Data Categories)

Data received from Service users

You are not required to provide additional personal information (such as real names, home addresses, or scanned identity documents) in your profile to use the Service. Any information provided voluntarily by the User will not be made public.

Data received from third parties (Steam)

All features of the CSDog service are available after authorization through Steam. During the first authorization, we receive your Steam ID, profile name, and avatar from Valve Corporation. The Steam ID is used to create a CSDog Account and to provide the user with information about their Steam game items. In the process of creating a CSDog Account, you will be assigned a User ID — a unique digital number.

Transactions and payment data

Payments for licenses to use Cases are performed on the Website. Payments are processed through third-party payment systems. We may transfer limited contact information (e.g., User ID or email) to the payment provider to facilitate transactions and perform anti-fraud checks. We collect, store, and process information about your inventory items, exchange preferences, and transaction history.

Cookies

As described in our Cookie Policy, CSDog uses cookies and similar technologies (web beacons, advertising tags, and device IDs) to identify you and your device within and outside the Service. You can manage cookies in your browser settings or opt out of tracking for third-party advertising.

Device and location information

When you visit csdog.io, we receive information about your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, selected language/design settings, and the referring website address to identify your device and ensure security.

Messages

Messages sent through customer support channels or contact forms are treated as confidential. Any public posts or comments made by Users on public sections of the Website (if applicable) are considered public information.

Analytics

The Website uses Google Analytics to measure user interaction. You can disable data collection by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

2. Processing Purposes

  • Service Provision: To provide access to the Website, facilitate the purchase of licenses, manage Inventory, and store your interface preferences (language, design).
  • Marketing: We display advertising both within and outside the Service using data from marketing technologies, cookies, and your usage history (searched items, visited sections).
  • Support: To answer questions and resolve complaints or technical issues.
  • Security: To investigate suspected or actual fraud and prevent illegal activities.
  • Statistics: To generate aggregated, anonymized statistics (e.g., number of purchases, regional activity) that do not allow for your individual identification.

3. Processing Time

We store your personal data as long as your account exists or as necessary for the operation of the Service. After you close your account, your data will be deleted, blocked, or anonymized in accordance with applicable law, unless legal requirements or legitimate business purposes (e.g., anti-fraud measures) require longer retention. If you withdraw consent or object to processing based on legitimate interests, we will delete the data, provided no other legal basis for processing exists.

4. User Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Information: You may request a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to Rectification: You can update your data in your personal account or request corrections if data is inaccurate.
  • Right to Be Forgotten: You may request deletion of data if it is no longer needed for original purposes, consent has been withdrawn, or there is no legitimate interest.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You may request the suspension of processing if you believe data is inaccurate or processed unlawfully.
  • Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a machine-readable format (e.g., JSON, CSV).
  • Right to Object: You may object to the use of your data for direct marketing or processing based on legitimate interests.

5. Children

Since the basic information for our Service is received from Valve Corporation, we follow a similar policy regarding children's personal data (Section 7 of the Steam Privacy Agreement). We encourage parents to supervise their children's online activities.

6. Cross-Border Data Transfer

We process personal data both within and outside the EU in accordance with legal mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) where necessary to ensure security and confidentiality. Currently, user data is stored within the EU territory.

7. Legal Grounds for Processing

We process data based on:

  • Consent: Explicitly granted by you upon authorization.
  • Contract: To fulfill obligations under the Terms of Use.
  • Legitimate Interest: To protect against fraud, improve service quality, and ensure business viability.
  • Legal Obligations: To comply with current legislation.

If processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. If based on legitimate interests, you may appeal against these interests by contacting us at the email team@csdog.io.
